I made up the mixture (having looked up the basic recipe online) and 8 hours later had perfectly delicious yoghurt. The instruction booklet gives mainly technical information, so one needs to look online to find out how to start. Warm the milk to 175 degrees first; leave it to cool to 115 degrees; add 1 teaspoon of milk powder; add 1 small carton of natural yoghurt. Pour the mixture into the 8 jars and – hey presto – success. Will continue and try out new recipes. Additional comment: no spare jars available. Other maker’s jars (lakeland) do not fit as they are too big.

Stir in 60g of full-fat natural yoghurt. You will have the exact quantity required for all your jars – fill them with your mixture, place the lids on, and set the timer for 8 hours. Once created, the batch should be fine for around 8 days in the fridge. Different milk will yield different tastes, but in my opinion, full fat is better because it makes a thicker end result.

    I have just received this yogurt make without any instructions so is completely useless. I have changed my rating to five stars after the prompt response from dutronic in sending out the instructions immediately and refundidng my postage after problems with the carrier delaying my delivery. The after sales service was excellent, and i would have every confidence in using this company again.     I ordered this yoghurt maker after a quick browse, since my old one needed to be replaced. Having searched in vain for a yoghurt maker with ceramic cups before, i was pleasantly surprised to find them in this yoghurt maker, as well as a nice design and proper timer function. This machine only heats for about an hour. After that it will “keep warm” for the remaiming time. The timer function allows up to 24 hours, making it possible for me to ferment my yoghurt for my preferred 17 hours, leaving no lactose, and producing the most faboulous thick, tart, bulgaric style yoghurt. The cups have tightly closing lids, which is a great improvement on the ones in my old machine, which had a too loose a fit for practical purposes. The yoghurt i expected to be the same. But even though i did not think yoghurt could actually get any better (already perfect), it really is just a little bit better – superb.

      1. I like it, neat and easy to use especially if you use a little everyday. Worked first time plug in and press the button no rocket science needed, small drawback i found it doesn’t switch itself off when timer is complete but not a big problem.

    I purchased this yogurt maker a few days ago to make dairy-free yogurts and couldn’t wait to try it as soon as i received it. What i liked about it:- it’s lightweight- it has pretty ceramic jars. They remind me of the fancy yogurt pots, which are sold at crazy prices in stores. They look great while serving. – it looks stunning in the kitchen. I do base my choices on looks, not only functionality, when it comes to gadgets. So i made my first batch of coconut yogurt last night and was pretty nervous, because it’s the first time i made any kind of yoghurt and i so wanted that beautiful, rich, creamy yoghurt the coyo brand offers. I left the yoghurt maker for 8-9 hours and when i opened the jars in the morning, i saw that particular consistency i wanted and the yoghurt had that beautiful tangy taste. Dare i say i loved the yoghurt more than the shop bought one. Absolutely thrilled with this maker.
